SPONSOR A MAMIL!

(a Middle Aged Man In Lycra)

Before he gets too decrepit, Dr John Bestwick is attempting to cycle 140 miles in one day from Workington (a port on the West Cumbrian coast for the Southerners amongst you) to Tynemouth on the North East coast of England on 19th May 2012.

Why? To raise awareness and hopefully some money for Gloucester House's residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit situated on the High Street in Highworth. Most people who come to the Salvation Army run centre are paid for by statutory authorities but there is a significant group who would benefit greatly from coming in but who have no sponsor. Gloucester House has set up a 'buy a bed' scheme to fill this gap- and this is what the cycle ride is to raise money for.

To spur him on please donate either at Westrop Surgery reception or online at www.justgiving.com/John-Bestwick

On a medical note, cycling is great for the older ones amongst us- it's easy on your knees, you get further than walking and the view is great!

Thank you, John Bestwick
