8.15am - 6.15pm

PLEASE NOTE:

The surgery is no longer open on Saturday mornings for Emergency appointments & for the collection of prescriptions. If you request a prescription to be collected from the surgery in the same week it must be collected by 6.15pm on the Friday of that week.

Apppointments

Appointments can be made either by telephone or in person at reception. Please make it clear if your problem needs urgent attention. We request that making routine appointments and enquiries is left until after 11.30am.

Each appointment is for one person only. Please ask for a longer appointment if you need more time.

Please cancel your appointment as soon as possible if you know you cannot attend so we can offer it to some one else.

Please do not call for routine matters before 8.30am as your call will be diverted to an answering service and you will have to call again once the surgery opens.

Appointments

We run an appointments system. Please telephone 01793 721254 between 2pm and 5.30pm Mondays, 2pm and 6pm Wednesdays and between 9am and 12 noon Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to make an appointment or call in person during opening hours.

HOME VISITS

If you are too ill or physically unable to come to the surgery please request a home visit before 11.00am as this enables the Doctors to plan their rounds. Urgent/Emergency calls and those after 11.00 am will be dealt with by the Duty Doctor.

Swindon Primary Care Trust Out of Hours Service is now responsible for the provision of medical cover outside of normal surgery opening times.

There is a dedicated team of Doctors & Nurses currently based at The Clover Centre, Great Western Hospital, Swindon who aim to provide a high quality, efficient service.

Depending on the nature of the problem you may be given advice over the telephone, asked to attend the Out of Hours Medical Centre, or when necessary a home visit arranged.

THE SWINDON NHS WALK-IN CENTRE

This operates from: SWINDON HEALTH CENTRE, Carfax Street, Swindon. OPEN 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday & 7am to 5pm Weekends & Bank Holidays.

Services:

No appointment necessary
Consultations with an experienced nurse
Treatment for minor injuries and illnesses e.g. strains and sprains, coughs, colds and flu like symptoms
Instant access to health advice and information on local services
Advice on how to stay healthy
Information on local out of hours GP and Dental services
Information on local pharmacy services

(The Clover Centre (detailed above) can provide similar services out of these hours but to avoid delay it is better to phone them in advance)
